In a letter addressed to Senate President Warren Peterson on April 12, Governor Hobbs clarified that the vetoed invoice’s definition of blockchain know-how is just too broad and will hamper policymaking efforts regarding an “emergent and probably energy-intensive financial exercise.”
Regardless of vetoing SB 1236, Gov. Hobbs has reiterated that she’s open to collaborating with the Legislature to seek out progressive options supporting the state’s thriving financial system whereas partaking native stakeholders to formulate such options.
In Jan., senators Wendy Rogers, Sonny Borrelli, and Justine Wadsack proposed invoice SB 1240, which is aimed toward introducing property tax exemptions for crypto. The Senate authorized the invoice. Now the Home will look into it.
